Latest Round of Weaning

Heifers numbered 34 and 35 have been moved to the other side of the barn. The subtle move was just to lock them away from their mothers in an effort to wean the two babies.

Since these two were born near this barn and are fed daily here, they did not worry that they were eating on the opposite side as their mothers. When breakfast time came and they missed the comfort of nursing before breakfast, they started to complain. It only lasted a few days because the mothers on the other side of the barn were being treated well and given treats to keep them happy.

With these two successfully weaned they will be added to the pen with the other weaned heifers. Several of the group are already sold and will be shipping out in the next week or two.
