Honeysuckle Vines

The flower of a honeysuckle. The pretty flowers of the honeysuckle vine are not a welcome site in the woods. The vines wrap around young Douglas fir trees and can strangle them.

While Mike is logging, my job is to clear out the unwanted vines from the young trees.  The vines that I had been working on today had started on one tree, moved over to another fir, and had traveled to the top of both trees.

Cutting and pulling for an hour resulted in a pile of vines.
