My brother had a successful elk hunt. He was only a spike (a young male) but the antlers (spikes) on the bull elk were close to 18 inches long.
Once back at the farm, the meat was hung to cool for a couple of days.
Steaks were cut, and lots of burger made.
About 50 lbs. of burger were put into large packs and frozen to be made into sausage at a later time.
