All in all, we were pretty fortunate with the round of storms that pummeled the area for a full week.
Areas near the river were damaged when the high water washed out some fencing and loaded other areas with lots of debris. The wind that came after all the rain toppled some trees, and tortured more areas of fence line.
We have gone up the hill along the north edge of the property and found more areas of fence flattened by trees and large branches. Because of the extreme amount of water in the soil, we have not yet made it to the south side of the property to check out the damage.
Weather forecasts are calling for a new series of storms coming into the Pacific Northwest with up to five more inches of rain here and five feet or more of snow to fall in the Cascades. There will be no complaining about snow pack for at least a year.
