Frosted Females

The heifers moved into the barn to eat hay from the manger sporting a light dusting of snow.

They had spent the night outside where the temperature dropped to a chilly 15 degrees. Near daybreak, a light snow started falling. Since all the animals had the outermost hairs of their hides frozen solid, the dusting of snow coated the backs and heads of the heifers.
