This picture may look like any other taken in the woods to you, to me it looks like prime hunting ground for Chanterelle Mushrooms. Because of the last series of storms, the ground has now been saturated with required moisture.
This area is a known patch and the mushrooms continue to grow in the same patch area each year.
Sure enough, on the backside of these green ferns, I spotted two small mushrooms.
The blue you see in the second pic is my gloved hand. Sadly, these were the only mushrooms found in this patch confirming my suspicions that it will still be a few more days before we see more growth in the patches.
