Ladybug, Ladybug

A lady bug.All of a sudden we are inundated with a new hatch of ladybugs. They can be seen crawling en-mass on the windows, they are sneaking into the house by the droves, they land on everyone standing in the yard, they are everywhere.

The bugs are a much needed predator of aphids and scale insects, my garden this year had a very high population of aphids to the point of decimating my Brussels Sprouts. So even though they are annoying right now, they are really being helpful.

Harmonia axyridis, most commonly known as the harlequin, multicolored Asian, or simply Asian ladybeetle, is a large coccinellid beetle. This is one of the most variable species in the world, with an exceptionally wide range of color forms. Wikipedia

    • I did hear that lower elevations are having Chevron bugs, stink bugs and spit bugs invading their places. Seems to be very hit and miss where one house is crawling and the one next door is bug free.
I do consider myself lucky with the ladybugs.
