Rosalie And Posie

While the main herd was hanging out in the field, Rosalie was just outside the fence when she delivered her daughter Posie.

We found the pair just as we were heading to do the morning feeding. The baby was just minutes old, standing and attempting to take a step or two.

The pair was close to the cliff above the Nehalem River and we worried about the baby stumbling through the brush and falling over the edge, so after feeding the main herd we walked the two to the barn where we they could bond and get some of the mud off the unsteady baby. We let them into the big field with the rest of the herd the next morning.
